"When we started no-one was talking about climate change. We had to talk in terms of trees because no one understood the concept of counting carbon and Carbon Neutral was like a parallel universe.

"When companies were talking about Carbon Neutral it used to be about PR and column inches - now the proposition has much more integrity, companies looking at genuinely making changes in their company and employee engagement (internal relations) almost more important as well as saving money. It has moved from PR to operations and C-suite.

"We used to phone people up and they didn't know what we were talking about or whose budget - now there are directors with the CO2 responsibility. ÒWhere is it going? Well, the marketplace will get bigger. We want consumers to really pick up offset - government make laws; companies follow trends; people cause revolution. Offset is the only way to achieve reductions rapidly and significantly - if we can get rid of the squabbling around standard and get some uniformity, then we should be able to see action."
